WHO WE ARE:
Phi Alpha Nu is a non-profit, non-traditional, non-collegiate yet education based, social and service fraternal sisterhood for dominant lesbians who identify with a masculine presence.
Education based?
Our belief is, there are no limitations when it comes to education, for education is truly limitless. In essence, education does not fit inside of a box. It does not matter where or how one obtains knowledge, so long as one obtains it and it leads to enhancement.
Whether it be inside a classroom or out, we feel it is imperative that individuals constantly strive to improve every possible dimension of their lives. Therefore, being "education based" entails utilizing all forms of education as a tool to prepare, empower, and encourage progression.
"Education is for improving the lives of others and for leaving your community and world better than you found it." - Marian Wright Edelman
OUR VISION:
While our visions are numerous, the primary vision of Phi Alpha Nu Fraternity is to re-bridge the gap between education and our communities by way of friendship, leadership, mentorship, and service while enhancing the development of our members.
OUR HISTORY:
Our inception is the result of the visions of PHI-nomenal women whose ideals are based on Friendship, Respect, Trust, Unity, Support, Intelligence, Leadership, Mentorship, and Professionalism.
After brief stints with "groups" that did not exemplify their high ideals, they united to create a fraternity; a fraternity that would be a home, a true "Fraternal Sisterhoood" for dominant women across the nation as well as the world.
With purpose in hand, these women proceeded until their vision became a reality.
Despite Phi Alpha Nu Fraternity's history not being one that dates back many years, it is with great confidence, faith and perseverance that we will build a history that will become a legacy!
